7/2/2009 More gossip about Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott... A few months ago we thought Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott may be dating Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. I now have an update. Hillary says “he's an amazing guy, but we're just friends.” The 1st time Brad Paisley’s 2 year old son Huck went fishing, he caught a 2 pounder but Brad had to pull it in for him. Kenny Chesney says the Top 3 priorities in his life are “work hard, play harder and call your mom.” Kellie Pickler says she’d love to cross over into tv & film one day. Other things on her list include becoming a member of the Opry, going skydiving, learning how to scuba dive & meeting Clint Eastwood. Tracy Lawrence’s album “The Rock’s” out - his 1st Christian country album. He wanted to do a Christian record for years, but he didn't feel he could do one justice til now. It’s it at Wal-Mart. 6/30/2009 Keith Urban has a new guitar! Keith Urban just got a new guitar - a Fender Telecaster & it was made just for him by senior master guitar builder Yuriy Shishkov. Keith wanted it to look like something Paul Stanley from Kiss might have & Yuriy’s the guy who made all of Paul’s guitar.Keith’s is covered with hundreds of fragments of hand-cut mirrored glass & it’s super heavy. He says, “I may only play it one or two songs cuz it’s pretty over the top.” Alan Jackson has a recent big regret - he turned down the chance to record Zac Brown's 'Chicken Fried.' His producer played it for him way before Zac even had his deal & Alan liked it but cuz he’d already recorded a song about cornbread & chicken & one about bologna, he didn’t think his record needed any more songs about food. Alan says, “in retrospect I should have done it." Vince Gill & Amy Grant married in 2000 & he’s got some good advice for newlyweds & says, “I'd rather be forgiven than be right. Kellie says save your money and don’t but those kinds of magazines. Val from St. Catharines Ontario wrote me after hearing Mike Fisher & Carrie Underwood were married Saturday at the Isaiah Tubbs resort in Canada. I talked to her publicist & she says not true. Blake Shelton was on a flight yesterday and I can relate to his tweet – he wrote, “do ya think you could turn the intercom up in the plane? 6/29/2009 Tim McGraw is working on another movie.... My insider Lisa got to be an extra on the set of Tim McGraw’s upcoming sports movie, “The Blind Side” with Sandra Bullock. She says it was a great experience & Faith was even on set with their 3 girls one day. When they broke for lunch, Sandra left but Tim & his oldest Gracie had lunch with the crew. Tim says he loved working with Sandra because she’s quote, “not Hollywood.” Rumor has it Kid Rock’s secretly dating Kellie Pickler. He showed up at the recent CMT Awards here with ex-girlfriend Sheryl Crow - but he was really there to be close to his new love, Kellie. Sources say “the romance between Kellie and Kid has been the worst-kept secret in Nashville." Kellie’s been dating a songwriter here for over a year, so we shall see. Most know we lost Michael Jackson yesterday and one tie he had to country was back in 02 his publishing company bought a Sony collection of 55,000 tunes including “Tennessee Waltz” and “Your Cheatin’ Heart.” Joe Nichols says "'Thriller' was the first album he ever bought with his own money. 6/25/2009 Garth does another show in Vegas for a very select audience. Last weekend, Garth performed another free show for Steve Wynn & friends at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas. He had a Pittsburgh Pirates cap on backwards during the 2 hour show but there was no announcement on where his deal with Wynn stands.Rumor has it the hitch is Wynn wants to charge more for ticket prices than Garth is comfortable with. Keith Urban says growing up in Australia, their house was dominated by country music. His dad’s a huge fan & he loved Ronnie Millsap, Glen Campbell and Kenny Rogers. Speaking of, I got to see Kenny a few weeks ago before his show & cuz of all the plastic surgery on his eyes, up close he looks like Johnny Carson. For his shows, Kenny has a lot of the lights on so he can see his audience – he said he doesn’t know why he didn’t think of this years ago.He also finds a guy in the front row he thinks was drug there by his wife & he tells him he’ll get $10 for each hit he knows, so Kenny tosses him 10 dollar bills & by the end of the show, Kenny gave him $150. 6/23/2009 Faith Hill's chilhood smells like.... Yesterday I mentioned I’d seen Julianne Hough’s sparkly jewel on the ring finger of her left hand, and I now I have the picture at nashvillkat.com. It’s HUGE! Julianne’s also in Shape Magazine telling how she stays so thin – she eats whatever she wants but she stops when she’s full. She also wants to put a rumor to rest - when she was on Dancing With the Stars with Helio Castroneves, it was rumored they were dating. Julianne says, “I love the guy but I wouldn’t touch him with a 10-foot pole!” Faith’s perfume,"Faith Hill Parfums” launches in October & it smells like her childhood-magnolias. Kellie Pickler tells OK! Magazine she’ll only sleep on her tour bus cuz it grosses her out to sleep on someone else's mattress, even in 5 star hotels. She has a king sized bed on her bus. Kellie also hates sitting on a toilet seat someone else already has. 6/22/2009 What was Nashville Kat up to this weekend? I was outside Grand Rapids this weekend at a concert with Blake Shelton, Julianne Hough and the Zac Brown Band. Cuz of bad weather, Zac’s flight in was cancelled so he made a call to Kenny Chesney & Kenny sent his jet to pick them up. They got to the show but they had no guitars and no clothes so they bought guitars then stopped at Wal-Mart & they all got matching black polyester uniform things. Kinda ugly! I talked to Zac before they went on and I think I spit on him. He said I didn’t so maybe he was just being nice. We bonded over our love of morel mushrooms. I asked if he ever hunted them and he said no, he just ordered them. By-the-way, I always thought Zac was huge but I towered over him! Also found out last weekend Julianne Hough has no cellulite on the backs of her legs so she’s pretty much flawless now! I’ve been told she’s been wearing a sparkly ring on her left ring finger but I couldn’t get to the stage before she went on to see if that’s true but I can now confirm Julianne will star in ... Garth was inducted back in 2000 & his 1st appeared at the venue in 94 sold out in a record 21 minutes. Trace Adkins is going on tour with Toby Keith soon & he was asked, ‘who's tougher, he or Toby? Trace said, "my toughness has been documented & I have the scars & surgeries to prove it. Toby & I both came out of the oil field & I wouldn't even want to find out who’s toughest.” Before making it big, the guys in Rascal Flatts all played the bars here & it was a friend who told them about the name ’Rascal Flatts’ cut it was his high school garage band name. They all liked it but Gary. Because of the 'rascal' part he thought they’d get called Spanky, Alfalfa & Buckwheat. Martina’s not a big fan of flying & she takes her bus whenever she can.
