Two weeks ago, who could imagined today at the Calgary Stampede.  Shaken to the core by a serious of devastating horse deaths and then the midway accident, it was a year no one could have envisioned on a sunny Friday parade morning.

 

  So does it change the fundamental values or direction of the outdoor show going forward?

 

   Each year, the Stampede hears about animal rights...each year getting a little louder.  Vociferous defenders of the "Way the West Was" and the lifestyle that still continues along that line today, the Stampede may have to look ahead to a future that does not include rodeo!

 

   No less than a catastrophic public relations year, 2010 may well go down as the year the ol' boys looked ahead and saw a different future than two weeks ago.

 

But that could just be me
