Zoo Lights 2017
The Calgary Zoo is one of Calgary’s most popular attractions year round. Getting the chance to explore different animals from penguins to giraffes there is always something to see at the Calgary Zoo. This year the Calgary Zoo is hosting the 20th anniversary of Zoo Lights. Which means, more lights, more activities and more fun! With 15 new events happening within the park there is sure to be something there for the whole family to enjoy!
Canadian Pacific Holiday Train
Like two trains passing in the night, you will not want to miss your chance to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, visiting over 182 communities in Canada. The 1,000 foot train will be located at the Anderson C-Train Station at 6:45 on December 9th. Come swing by to see the amazing fourteen rail car covered in thousands of holiday lights.
Santa Shuffle: Fun Run and Elf Walk
Ever wonder what a bunch of Santa Clauses would look like running around downtown Calgary? Well now’s your chance with the Santa Shuffle: Fun Run and Elf Walk presented by the Salvation Army. The 5km run hopes to spread awareness and raise money for families living in poverty this holiday season. So join in the run or sponsor a runner to help raise some money and have a good time helping others! The run is on December 2nd and will start at Eau Claire Market at 10:00am.
A Christmas Carol
Theater Calgary is putting on their 31st production of A Christmas Carol starring Stephen Hair who will reprise his role of Ebeneezer Scrooge for the 29th time. The play follows the traditional story of A Christmas Carol and is said to be a fun and memorable experience for the whole family! The production runs from November 23rd to December 24th – with some shows already sold out, get your tickets while you can.
Once Upon a Christmas
Looking for Santa? Well look no further than Heritage Park, starting November 25th to December 23rd, Santa Claus will be down at Heritage Park celebrating the holiday season the old fashion way. Come join him and enjoy a festive carriage ride, singing carols while being fully immersed in the old fashioned Christmas spirit.
