Thomas Rhett got the chance to play the halftime show yesterday at the Thanksgiving Day NFL game down in Texas, where the Dallas Cowboys took on the Los Angeles Chargers.
He kicked off the show with his huge hit “Craving You”, then continued on to perform “T-Shirt”, and “Unforgettable”. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders joined Rhett for his electric performance.
The show was special for Rhett as it marked the kickoff of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, and it also held great significance for his wife, Lauren.
When I think of my granddaddy, I think of his scruffy beard against my cheek when he kissed me, him singing to me “you are my sunshine”, riding down the back roads in his blue pickup truck eating whoppers, and sitting in his recliner with him after church watching the Dallas Cowboys. He took me to my first and only Cowboys game when I was Willa Gray’s age💛 I wish so bad I could have told him that my husband would be playing the halftime show at his Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game 20 years after he left this world...but I think I know what he’ll be doing tomorrow afternoon⭐️💙
Thomas and Lauren’s little girls even got in on the action! Willa Gray and Ada James had their very own Cowboys Cheerleaders outfits.
Willa Gray has got the moves!
It may not have been the outcome that they were looking for as the Chargers whomped the Cowboys 28-6, but it was a win for this adorable couple who seem to become more supportive and fall more in love every day. They’re the best!
