Brittany, the owner of Brittany Moore Photography, shared a beautifully tragic photo series of the last day with her family dog, Livingston (Livi) Harney. Brittany told us that her family has had Livi since 2003. Mother’s Day was his birthday, making him one month shy of his 14th birthday.
Below are a few photos from the full series. *WARNING* Get your box of Kleenex before you move on:
“It was nice outside today so Mommy took me to check out the yard. I used to chase the squirrels under the large pine tree.”
“I played outside with my family. I love the smell of grass.”
“I’m really going to miss you all.”
“I showed the Dr my yard.”
“Then we had my favorite snack! Cheeseburgers!!”
Brittany told us, “He loved being outside and chasing the squirrels in the yard and visiting our property in Moorefield. His family includes, Courtney (Father) and Jenny (Mother) and siblings Brittany (Me), Joann (sister), Maggie (Sister) and Morgan (Brother).”
“All mine! All 7 of these delicious cheeseburgers.”
“Hi, Maggie. I’m going to miss you so much!”
“You showed me so much. I love you. I’m ready, Mommy.”
So now that we’re all bawling, Brittany told us that Livi spent his last day surrounded with the things he loved, his family and loved ones.
“Love always, Livi.”
As difficult as this was to read, we are so glad that Brittany shared such an incredibly touching story with us.
Rest in Peace, Livi! All of our love.
Brittany wrote on her Facebook Page, today, “Our beautiful beloved, Livingston is home. My family and I would like to thank you all for your kind words, heartfelt messages and continued prayers during this time. Livingston was a wonderful dog and we are very honored to have been his family. After a long struggle of health issues, he is finally pain free. This decision was very difficult for our family but we are confident he is flying high. Until we meet again.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.”
