There was never any question she would answer the call. After all, that what she does, even if it was her wedding day.
EMT Sarah Ray sprung into action when she and new husband-also a paramedic-heard a car from their wedding party was in a crash after the ceremony.
“The first thing I did was hop in the back of the ambulance with my grandmother to check on her,” Ray said. “She was there with the paramedic and EMT that responded.”
A photo of her in her wedding dress attending to the injured at the scene went viral. As of noon Monday, the photo had been viewed 1.4 million times on Facebook. It had been “liked” 12,000 times and shared another 5,300 times.
“The picture is me going, ‘Really Mom? You’re taking a picture right now?’” Ray said.
We hear too much about people who won’t do their jobs because they don’t like this or that, so it’s refreshing to realize there are people like Sarah Ray who have their priorities straight.
