In an advertising stunt that certainly turned heads, the man that launched himself in a lawn chair tied to balloons toward the Stampede grounds Sunday now faces police charges.
Dan Boria had long planned the high flying stunt, as you can see in the video with all the gear and helpers he gathered yesterday.
I watch that thing take off and imagine the seasoned skydiver had moments of doubt and fear as to whether this theory was – literally- going to fly.
He didn’t skydive into the Stampede, bailing out and leaving his chair to the breeze while landing near the grounds.
The flight has provoked strong opinions all day, some admiring his moxie, others pointing out his disregard for not just himself but those below.
Are charges too much?
For now at least, Dan Boria doesn’t care because he calls it “The most fun thing I’ve ever done”. Backlash still to be determined.
